SCAA and Edinburgh Airport team up again to celebrate award success

Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) is celebrating after lifting a top national fundraising sector award.

The air ambulance charity secured the "Best Partner Relationship" title at the Scottish Fundraising Awards hosted by the Institute of Fundraising Scotland in Glasgow this week.

SCAA's success centred on a year-long partnership with Edinburgh Airport during the charity's fifth anniversary year which resulted in over £200,000 worth of donations and in-kind support.

Delighted SCAA regional fundraising manager Carol Anne McMahon, who managed the partnership, explained how the joint working had exceeded all expectations and provided both vital income and brand awareness.

"We set out at the start of the partnership year to raise £24,000 which would fund an average 'Mission A Month'. This target was absolutely smashed with cash raised alone funding 30 emergency missions," she said.

"The increased awareness levels through branding throughout Scotland’s busiest airport also resulted in a significant increase in awareness levels at a crucial stage of the charity’s development," she said.

"Edinburgh International Airport staff were engaged throughout and took part in innovative fundraising activities and support giving which added up to a fantastic year's contribution to our life-saving work.

"To have this successful partnership recognised by our peers and fundraising sector leaders is tremendous and hugely complementary to the work of both the airport team and everyone involved at SCAA. We're absolutely thrilled to lift a third IoF award within our six years of service."
